【命题特点分析】
人物故事可以是普通人物的故事,讲述其普通人生不朽的精神,也可以是杰出人物的故事, 讲述其不平凡的经历和卓越的贡献。介绍杰出人物时特别着重介绍杰出人物如何克服自身身体残缺或自然环境和社会环境造成的各种困难,用强烈的事业心和责任感、汗水和泪水、鲜血和青春为人类做出巨大贡献,为生命谱写精彩乐章。当然这些杰出人物留给社会的不仅仅是促进和平发展或提高经济效益的物质财富,更重要的是,他们对事业的追求和对人民的热爱成为我们这个时代最重要的精神财富。无论是普通人物的故事还是杰出人物的故事都可以让读者获取精神营养,教会他们如何做人,如何成才 。
1. 普通人物不朽精神判断题
普通人物故事往往介绍父母对子女在各个角度做出的无私奉献,他们的故事虽各不相同,但对子女的爱是永远不变的。因此,普通人物故事易出现普通人物不朽精神判断题。试题往往以What can we learn from…?或What is the spiritstrength of…? 或What is the best title of the passage?为设问方式,答案始终扣住Great love。
2. 人物生活时段/年龄判断题
这种试题常以What life part of the hero/heroine is mentioned in the text?为设问方式。人物故事常介绍人物一生学习、工作和生活的情况,因此试题常以The whole life of the hero/heroine.为答案。试题也可以转换形式,以How old is the hero/heroine now? 或How old was the hero/heroine when he/she died? 或How many years did he/she live?为设问方式。人物故事常常要从人物出生介绍到人物现状/死亡,因此推算人物年龄时应认真分析人物的起止年龄。

4. 人物简历判断题
因人物故事常介绍人物一生经历,因此常出现人物简历判断题。试题常常从人物全部经历中挑选4~6个重要事件打乱其顺序,要求考生重新排序,并选择正确答案。解题时应当先阅读题干所列4~6个重要事件,力争对其有一定印象,然后回读原文,并以事件的发生、发展及高潮为线索将所列重要事件进行排序,这样试题就会迎刃而解。

“Can I see my baby?” asked the happy new mother. When the baby was in her arms, she couldnt believe her eyes. The baby was born without ears.

In Choosing Steven Chu as his energy secretary[能源部长], Barack Obama has chos en one of the most prominent U. S. scientists of using science todeal with global warming[全球变暖].
Steven Chu was born in St.Louis, Missouri, in 1948. His father was a college teacher. Atthat time, they were only the third Chinese family to live there. In high school, Chu played tennis and was on the school club. He took his first physics classin his senior year at Garden City High School and became interested in it.
Steven Chu got his first doctors degree in maths and physics in 1970. Then he wen t to California for another doctors degree.
