Project for Controlling Naphtha Cracking Depth at Tianjin Petrochemical Company Passed Acceptance Test

The project relating to the system for controlling the naphtha cracking depth in steam cracking unit, the investment in which totals 6.92 million RMB, has passed the acceptance tests carried out by the expert group. It is said that the successful application of this project is the first in China coordinated operation of domestic online chromatographic analysis system with the system for controlling the naphtha cracking depth to fill the technical gap in this area.

In a bid to further enhance the optimized operation of steam cracking unit, the Sinopec Group in 2011 decided to adopt the domestic naphtha cracking depth control system in the steam cracking unit at the Tianjin Petrochemical Company. The domestic pyrolysis gas online analytical system, which has been comparable in performance with overseas ones, can in response to the changes in pyrolysis gas composition adjust the COT set temperature to stabilize the naphtha cracking depth. Under similar oil product quality the application of this naphtha cracking depth control system can increase the diolefins yield by 0.18% on an average to harvest an additional 907 tones of diolefins per annum, which can bring about an economic benefit of 4.35 million RMB a year. Amid fluctuations in market price of ethyelene and propylene, this system can flexibly adjust the production ratio between ethylene and propylene.
