Recently, the Changdu government and CHINALCO signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement concerning the exploration of mineral resources. As one of the 54 enterprises directly under the central government, CHINALCO has been long responsible for supporting Changdu Prefecture’s Chaya County. The completion of this strategic cooperation framework agreement will mean that Changdu and CHINALCO can conduct cooperation and communication in a number of valuable areas at various levels of the mineral resources sector, promoting rapid construction and the development of a non-ferrous metals base in eastern Tibet. The agreement represents a step forward in Support Tibet work, and may facilitate a transformation from the so-called “blood transfusion” phase to “blood making”.
During the signing ceremony, Wang Ruilian,Secretary of CPC Changdu Prefecture Committee and Director of Changdu Working Committee of the local People’s Congress said, “the CPC Changdu Committee, the Administrative Office and the relevant functional departments at all levels will persistently support CHINALCO’s development in Changdu, and ensure the steady and smooth development of various undertakings”. In addition, he hopes to further strengthen communication between local government and CHINALCO, and intends for both sides to turn the words of the agreement into action and tangible achievements,thus realizing mutual benefits and a win-win outcome.
