After 10 years, China’s gold prospecting team has found another super large gold mine with deposits of 108.6 ton in the Zhaishang mining area of Min County, Gansu Province. This follows from the Yangshan Gold Mine in Longnan.

One of the members of the gold prospecting team claimed that the Zhaishang mine is located on an east-west strip with a complex geological formation in the Qinling Mountains in Min County, and boasts excellent geological mining conditions. The mining area has a poor natural environment and a relatively underdeveloped economy with an average altitude of more than 3000 meters. The mine thickens gradually from east to west. Prospectors tend to do their work by taking advantage of comprehensive geological, physical and chemical prospecting methods as it is hard to conduct prospecting by using geological methods alone.Currently, more than 2000 prospectors (person/time) have been mobilized, 35,000 meters of drilling work has been completed, and more than 30 gold lodes with total reserves of 108.6 tons have been found.

A Min County official indicated in an interview with Chinanews that, in recent years, gold prospectors have been working hard in the eastern mountains, and expect the gold mine to promote local economic development and help increase standards of living for local people, removing poverty as quickly as possible.

Experts predict the great potential of the mining area, more reserves are expected to be found as prospecting work continues.
