Shift in world movement around the concept of peace

More than 60 years have past since theUnited Nations deployed the first peacekeepingoperation in 1948 in the MiddleEast. Forty-four years later, the concept of“peacebuilding” was first put forward by UNSecretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali in1992. On December 20, 2005, UN GeneralAssembly and Security Council authorized toestablish UN Peacebuilding Commission, aimingto find out the best channel to solve internationalconflicts through efforts in aspects such as politics,security, humanitarianism and development.
