With March comes the promise of warm spring: time for flowers to blossom, fields to rum green and farmers to get busy.This month, the third solar term, Waking of Insects (ring zhe), arrives and with it the Earth awakens, new life bursts forth, and ploughing should begin. After jing zhe, the fourth solar term, Vernal Equinox (chunfen), marks the start of longer days and shorter nights in the northern Hemisphere, as well as a busy sowing season.
