Founded in 1951, the University of InternationalBusiness and Economics (UIBE)was originally called the Beijing Institute ofForeign Trade. In 1960, it was identified asa key university by Chinese Government,and in 1984, the name was formally changedwith the approval of the Ministry of Educationof China.
