HARD LABORMadagascarFormer President MarcRavalomanana was sentencedto life imprisonment with hardlabor for his role in the deaths of30 protesters in 2009. The court inAntanarivo, the nations capital,also sentenced two others with thesame penalty. The incident tookplace shortly before Ravalomananawas overthrown in a coup bycurrent President Andry Rajeolina.Ravalomana is currently inexile in South Africa.
