On behalf of President Pervez Musharraf, Pakistani Ambassador to China Salman Bashir presented the medal and certificate of Hilal-i-Quaid-i-Azam (Cresent of the Great Leader) to CPAFFC President Chen Haosu on the morning of June 20 at the Embassy of Pakistan in China.

Hilal-i-Quaid-i-Azam is one of the national medals issued by the President according to the Constitution of Pakistan to commend those who have made outstanding contributions to Pakistan.

CPAFFC President Chen Haosu said that he was very honoured to receive the medal which was given to him as well as to all the Chinese people and that it is a symbol of the friendly sentiments of the Pakistani people for the Chinese people. Chen recalled the all-weather traditional friendship and mutual assistance between China and Pakistan and said that he himself and the CPAFFC would make unremitting efforts to uphold lasting friendship between the two countries and build a harmonious world.

Ambassador Bashir spoke highly of the great contributions President Chen Haosu has made to Pakistan-China friendship. He pointed out, words are not enough to describe the friendship between the people of Pakistan and China, which is the convergence of the hearts and minds of our two peoples. The ambassador expressed the belief that Pakistan-China friendship will have a better future and reap richer fruit.
