For a long time Beijing has servedas the political and cultural center for thecountry. Howevcr, Beijing is the birthplace ofChina's financial policies. Due to its specialgeographic position and drive towardsinternalionalization, Beijing has grown tobecome China's true financial center. Thespotlight has again been thrown onto thecapital during high-profile announcementsof its aspirations to become an internation-ally influential financial center.
