At the moment, the whole worldfaces the most severe inflation infood prices in history, as grain andsoybean prices climb to all-time highs. Al-though some observers blame the weatherfor the decrease in crop yields and thatthe growing demand for cereals used forbio-fuel production has conspired towardcontinuous price rises on world grain mar-ket; others regard it simply as a matter ofdemand outpacing supply. In seven of thelast eight years, world grain production hasfallen behind rates of consumption.
