三峡生态环境依然良好

Chinanews, Beijing, November 17—The major part of the Three Gorges Project will be completed very soon, and the project has won a good name for its good environmental effect on both the area itself and the entire Yangtze River Basin.

By now, the project has generated 300 billion kwh of electricity. If such energy had been generated by thermalpower, there would have been 220 million tons of carbon dioxide emitted to the atmosphere, and 100 million tons of coals would have been burned. The project is a great contribution of China to the implementation of the Kyoto Protocol.

China has invested 39.22 billion yuan, all collected by issuance of treasury bonds, on the building of sewage and waste treatment plants in the area, and many polluting enterprises have been closed down there. Other environmental protection measures have also been taken.

11月17日，北京，中国新闻——三峡工程的主体部分即将完工，而对三峡本地和整个长江流域环境的良性影响也为该工程赢得了美名。

迄今为止，该工程已经发电3000亿度。如果由热电站来发这么多的电，那就会有2.2亿吨二氧化碳排入大气中，并要烧掉1亿吨煤。因此，该工程可谓中国对贯彻《京都议定书》的一大贡献。

中国已经投资了 392.2亿元，这些钱都是通过发行国库券筹集起来的。利用这笔钱，当地建起了污水和废物处理工厂，关闭了许多污染企业，并采取了其他一些环境保护措施。
